Hello and welcome to the “Introduction to DSLR Photography” online course presented by Nick Carver Photography!
This course is designed to get you comfortable with some of the most important functions of your DSLR camera and photography principles so that you can start taking better pictures. In this extensive class, I will cover many topics that may or may not be brand new to you. Some of the topics may be simple for you to grasp while others will be much more difficult. Keep these study tips in mind when doing this course to help ensure you get the very most out of your study time:
- Never move on to the next topic or subject until you fully understand the one before it. Many of these lessons build on each other and must be understood before learning the next. Take your time and get help if you need it before moving on. This course is self-paced and includes lifetime access. So, there's no rush!
- Spend plenty of time using your camera. It's often best to have the camera with you while studying so you can try things out immediately after reading. Don't wait for your next trip to Yosemite National Park. When you learn a new topic on this course, try it out right then and there. Photograph anything, no matter how boring it may be. Just get your hands on the camera and do it while the information is still fresh in your brain. Photography can't be learned only by reading about it and it can't be learned only by doing it - you must devote time to both. Muscle memory is sometimes half the battle. So practice, practice, practice!
- I am here to help! I want you to succeed and progress on this course. Don't be shy about emailing me. No matter how small or big the question may be, please let me know via email.
Keep in mind that this is a home-study course and one of the biggest advantages to such a method of study is that you can work at your own pace! Don’t rush, don’t feel like you’re under pressure to finish in a certain time period and don’t stress! You have lifetime course access and there is no time limit to finish, so take all the time you need. If you need help at any time, contact me at my personal email address:
Thank you for signing up and enjoy the course!
Best,
Nick Carver
